Double swing gates
Our standard GBD 290 model actuator will lock up to 2m’s of gate leaf length. Typically as the gate length increases, so does
the ability to apply increased leverage and for that reason, we would normally recommend enhancing locking via a low voltage centre strike lock for double swing gates - with a lock installed at the
end of a larger single swing opening. See Single Swing gates.

The standard Model 290 actuator will open up to an angle of approx. 120 degrees. For opening angles of more than 120 degrees, we
would recommend a GBD Model 1000 Underground drive unit. See Underground drive units. If you are having your gate manufactured by others - be sure to have stops
installed for the open & closed positions. Contact us for a geometry layout diagram to ensure the optimum performance of drive units. The way a gate is hinged and hung on a post or pillar is critical! so
be sure to contact us prior to commencing if you are building your own gate or having it built by others.

Wooden Gates
The GBD Model 290 - because of its incredible adjustable sensitivity, is the unbeatable choice for automating wooden gates. Wooden
gates require both power of operation to overcome wind force on gates and yet sensitivity enough to prevent unnecessary strain on joints and hinges when the stops are reached in the open & closed

Single swing gates
Generally the more economical way to automate your vehicle entry - once again the GBD Model 290 opens the largest of gates with ease. In most
cases we would recommend enhanced locking via the VIRO low voltage strike lock - to take flex out of gate and hinges on larger gates.
Below shows a range of single swing gates (Note: Some feature ‘dummy’ double centre vertical rails to give the impression of two gates), all automated with GBD model 290 operators and low
voltage strike locks.
